Liberty’s Falwell says he’s target of “attempted coup”

Tuesday, President Jerry Falwell Jr. of Liberty University reportedly told The Associated Press that he was requesting an FBI investigation of what he considers to be a “criminal” smear conspiracy.

“I’m not going to dignify the lies that were reported yesterday with a response, but I am going to the authorities and I am going to civil court.” Falwell states.

The article in question was published by Politico Magazine on Monday and anonymously cites what are described as current and former Liberty officials or Falwell associates.

Virginia AG warns against self-administered rape kits

Mark Herring, Virginia Attorney General, says consumers should be cautious to use self-administered rape kits.

While seemingly convenient, Herring’s office says that evidence from said kits could be ruled inadmissible in a criminal proceeding because of custody issues. Other attorney generals have also warned against these products, as it could discourage some from seeking the medical assistance they need.

Local Airbnb hosts earned over $3M this summer, $60M in total for all of Virginia

Thursday, Airbnb announced that Virginia hosts earned a total of $60.3 million from the 282,000 guests that visited over the summer.

“Throughout the summer of 2019, we have continued to see the significant, positive impact of our short-term rental community across Virginia…” stated Kelley Gossett, Head of Mid-Atlantic Public Policy for Airbnb.

They hope to have more profitable summers to come.
